2009 Coming To A Quick End
So I did pretty well on my New Year resolution of not knitting so many scarf’s and such. I branched out this year and made a skirt several baby blankets, and even a twin size blanket (among other things). So over the next few days I am going to post pictures and thoughts of the projects that I worked on. Starting with the one and only scarf I made this year
This scarf came from the book Men’s Knits by Erika Knight. I modified the scarf slightly. Instead of the stated number of CO stitches I did 300. I think the length at 300 is perfect. My yarn choice was Blue Sky Alpaca (sport weight). The yarn is ridiculously soft and absolutely amazing to knit with. Also the pattern called for each strip to be 1.5 inches wide.
I thought that I wanted to have more stripping in the scarf. So I each strip is approximately 1 inch in width. With the modifications. I used 1 skein of each color with the exception of the blue. I used 1.5 skeins of yarn. I think that it came out great and hope that my boyfriend loves it.
